With fuel Prices going down ($2.75 for regular here in Rhode Island) and knowing that they are sure to go up by springtime, is there any reason I can't fill up my MH now and keep close to a full tank ...

I always fill my tank before winter storage. It leaves less room for condensation to form.
Also, I use Sta-bil in the tank. You'll get different opinions on the use of a gas stabilizer, not everyone agrees with its use.
I think everyone will agree it's best to fill the tank before you put your rig into storage.
