The way I read original question, it is if the slides can be operated with enlarged battery bank.
Since the system was modified, the factory manual no longer apply.
Now it is a valid question if the slides operate on house, or chassis battery.
Sounds like original chassis battery have been on small side and that is why the manufacturer advice running the engine, but unless we can find wiring diagram for the coach, the question which battery bank apply here should be send to manufacturer.
We can guess forever.
