Faced with the "What do I buy?" Dilemma last year, I started at the bottom...namely the tires, chassis and engine. After hours of tedious research, I determined that I wanted the largest tires commonly found on a tag axle coach. They were 315x80x22.5. Next I chose the Spartan K3 chassis (their heaviest and best one). Next, being a bit if a gear head, I wanted a high horsepower, high torque engine...600 or more HP.
Armed with this simple requirement, I found several high line coaches which offered this combo...Entegra Cornerstone, Newmar King Aire, and American Heritage. Looking at each, we quickly discarded the Entegra and began to seek a King Aire or a Heritage.
We found a Heritage first and after 10,000 miles and living in it 6 months in SW Florida, I can honestly say that the coach is as perfect as machinery gets. It is a 2006 and looks brand new, drives like a dream, and has every option I have ever seen on a coach including Vorad collision avoidance! The factory folks are truly unbelievable in their commitment to assisting you, even with your "dumb newbie" questions.
We have absolutely no need for a newer coach, but if and when that time comes ( and finances allow), we would look first for another Heritage. We'd certainly like a Newell, but that's waaaay too pricey for us.
