Canadian Coaches

Inspected it today more closely. I crawled underneath and found they had sprayed the entire undercarriage with a tar like substance that was still pliable and wiped off easy. Removing some of this I found extensive rust on many surfaces. Rust to the point that the metal was actually pitted and brittle. Seems as they did this recently, I believe after I told them I was going to return and crawl around underneath. Disappointed but glad we found it. Search goes on. Frustrating on how far some dealers go to mislead......

The OP says, in his second post, that he's buying it in AZ, and he's in TX. Who ever brought it into the US probably had the instrumentation switched back to US format. It's just a software change in the instrument panel computer. It also suggests that the rig meets the US emission standards for 2011, which would have been one of my concerns.

If the price is as competitive as he indicates, I'd be comfortable buying it, provided a very though inspection by a qualified RV mechanic didn't reveal any problems.

Agree - There are many for sale much closer to home. From what has been written, sounds like a so-so motorhome at a so-so deal. Doesn't warrant the extra time and expense to purchase out of Canada.

There is something amiss here.Any new vehicle to my understanding that is sold in Canada is metric.Also don't know why some one who purchased an RV in Canada at 30% higher then USA would sell it in the USA,now especially with the Canadian dollar valued at close to 18% of the American dollar.Sorry but my opinion is clearly that something is funny,you still haven't said who the original selling dealer was?Auto fax is not the way I would check this unit out.You should be able to trace this unit from day one as it is only a few years old.But hey you spend your money as you see fit.

The odometer shows 28000 miles,the last auto fax entry showed the mileage on 123114 to be 30000 miles?? I know in the past when I have registered a vehicle and they ask me the mileage when I'm in the office I don't always know the exact mileage and give them a good guess. I'm thinking that may explain the difference. At 89k asking it is consistent with others being sold and well below avg NADA. Interesting note the chassis is an '11 the house part is a '10. This seems backwards to what I have seen in the past.

28K-- what miles or kilometers?I assume kilometers as it was sold new in Canada,UL or CSA rated?Original selling dealer,probably a sticker on unit,for geographic location,Maritimes or dry Prairies?There has been serious spring floods in Alberta for instance and some dealers and individuals had problems.

A rust spot on the drivers door could possibly be from the repair that was made. Many times they will not prime and get the metal ready for paint and that is the result. That is almost too high to be from anything involving road salt. I guess backing up with the door open or some other dumb mistake. We get similar weather to Canada and both of my MHs have never been in winter weather. They both sit in a barn with a concrete floor and a lot of other MHs for company so they aren't lonely.

I am purchasing it in Arizona....it came here from Canada in Dec. Coach has 28k on it. I too was concerned about why the tires were bad enough for the dealer to change as they usually won't change them if they are still holding air. It also has a quarter size rust spot on the drivers door just above the bottom. This is what got me thinking of Canadian elements. No indication of rust elsewhere. Thanks again for all your thoughts.

How many miles are on it, it should have not needed new tires that soon.
