- EMD360ExplorerYeah, with the rear walk around bed you will have to go above 24ft. Some of the shorter RV's have a slide and a side bed not walk around. I think it is easier to find 27' and above than the shorter rigs.
Keep looking and good luck! - luberhillExploreragain, I would like at least ONE slide and a rear queen bed...the area over the cab would be were id like the tv and storage as its just my wife, me a our dog
- BordercollieExplorerWe like the storage capacity, floor plan and rear bedroom of our Fleetwood 2004 Tioga 26Q. (27 feet long bumper to bumper)The Fleetwood Jamboree 26Q is almost identical. Fleetwood stopped making the 26Q design in 2007(??). Google Fleeetwood 26Q to find year models and negotiable asking prices. Bear in mind that 10 year old rigs may soon need replacement of roof AC, fridge, water pump, converter/charger and batteries, plus tires if older than 5 years old by date codes.Inspect any used rig carefully for evidence of water leak damage which is very expensive to have repaired. Don't buy on impulse or just tired of looking.
- IAMICHABODExplorer III was in the same boat, looking for something in my price range and a floor plan that I wanted.
After a long fruitless search I went with the Ex Rental,as documented
HERE
I am happy with this choice as many others are.
Just another Idea to look at.
Good Luck in your search. - ol__yellerExplorer III started where you did. I couldn't find what I wanted at $20K. I upped the budget to $30K and just found newer units that were filthy and damaged. I the upped the budget to over $40K and found our gem. Any higher and it was a toss-up between used or new. Our search was over a time period of 2 years.
- klutchdustExplorer IILook at PPL in texas as well. My coach was in Minnesota and I am in California but that's what it took. Folks have had good experiences with the
rental companies as well. - snowdanceExplorerWe went thru much the same thing a few years back as we run in the back county so needed a shorter one. We got ours thru a dealership after trying the same places as you but in California every thing has to work 90 days or they fix it so was a better deal for us. They replaced the microwave, water heater and did an upgrade on the fridge. Good luck looking. The one you want is out there some place.
- mikimExplorerYou might also look at Lazy Daze Motorhomes.
- IslandmanExplorer IIYou may want to try an lower-priced, smaller, and older Class C that has minimal use like a 2000 model with under 50K miles; that way you won't have too big an investment if things don't work out the way you hoped. Then if you're happy with a Class C for your travels, look for a higher quality, larger, used unit such as Coach House or Born Free to enjoy. If you get a good deal on the starter Class C, then you can probably get you investment back when you purchase a higher-end make. A nice 10 year old 27 ft Coach House with low miles will cost you about $50K but you maybe should wait a few years before making that kind of investment just to be sure you're happy with the Class C motorhomes.
- EMD360ExplorerSame here, recommending ours. If you are will to go 10 years old or more (2002-2004) you can find one in the $20,000 range. Something like this Four Winds. In Arizona
