We took a trip to Alaska a while back. We had a Wagonmaster who set up the itinerary and the rest of us followed. We left every morning at 7:30 and pulled in to the RV park at about 4:00PM. We had some very good walkie talkie radios that allowed us to cover about 5 to 6 miles. The Wagonmaster knew of the places to stop and enjoy the views and knew of the places to go fishing, etc. We had the slowest go last and that worked for us. What made the trip so great was that we had a great leader and some very good followers.
You are planning a trip that requires each one to agree about lots of variables and in order to end as friends each one must be involved in the planning and then stick to the plan.
I wish you all the best and safety on your travels.
