Not sure which style you have. If it is like these there are fairly easy.

There is two screws on the edge of the compartment door that holds them in place.
Start by removing cover from the compartment latch from inside. Get a strong piece of string and attach to the operating arm. remove the two screws and pull latch assembly out feeding the string in. The string is to make it easier to get the operating arm back into position. Disconnect arm and attach new latch.
The small keep that you most likely broke off the back of the latch assembly can be reinstalled using a metal self tapping screw.
Don't for get to lube them good before installing!
