Personally, I think the dog should stay home, if you are that concerned about it being in the RV.
If you really want to bring it along, I'd get a large crate for inside the RV, and keep the dog in that while you are driving.
Giving the dog a bath and brushing before you leave may help with any odors.
Taking the dog for regular walks should help with any housebreaking issues.
I would not keep the dog on the outside of the Motorhome....or you'll be dealing with folks discussing it with you at every stop you make!
