Hard to say. Coach propane tanks are designed differently than just ordinary BBQ propane tanks. Not all tanks are created equally. The key is, can the gas that is vented escape/disperse easily? Can you place the tank in such a fashion where the valve is upright?
If your answer to both those is yes, then you are probably pretty safe.
I am no expert on this stuff, however I did have to sit through hours, upon hours, upon hours of depositions, engineers testimony & theroy, expert witnesses, tank manufactures explanations of tank manufacturing & design, valve desing & operation, probable cause of explosions, gas experst, etc. I now know whay more than one should ever have to about propane.
