No problem at all havasu. You are correct, the leaking gas is what stated the chain of events.
There were two tanks, the one that was venting, did so, just as it was designed to do. The second one exploded as a result of the heat generated from the vented gas that exploded. Tank 1 was virtually in tact after explosion, the valve was shot off due to the pressure inside, also as designed to do, however second tank was ripped open like cracked egg which is the one that exploded.
That is the key point, the tanks are desgined to vent, when they do so, can the gas escape/disperse? In a bay under our coaches, no way. Please just be smart about propane tanks.
