If it is the door, you can either replace the entire door (provided you can find one the same size) or buy a sheet of wood veneer. Veneer can be purchased in almost any wood type, in various sizes and can be glued to the door surface. Some veneers are supplied with the glue attached and can be bonded to the door using an iron. After the installation, it can be stained and finished to match the existing woodwork. Good luck.
