Catalytic Converter Update
I talked to the storage manager today and he told me 13 vehicles were involved in the converter theft caper. He crawled under my motor home and inspected it again and reported that the existing exhaust piping was intact and that the only piping cut was on the converter which is a good thing. Now the bad things the Westland, MI police department has no way for me to put the police report in from here in Florida. That won't take it over the phone either I thinking about writing up all the pertinent information and e mailing to the Chief of Police to get it on the record.
NOW THE REALLY BAD NEWS Ford does not stock my converter anymore and neither does the independent suppliers that I have tried here in town and on the web. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO GET ONE I'AM ALL EARS IT NEEDS TO FIT A 2000 F53 MOTORHOME WITH THE 6.8 LITER V-10.
The Fords parts man told me that he is receiving long lists of Ford parts everyday that are being discontinued. It looks like Ford's is purging their parts inventory on the older vehicles and making the customer depend on the aftermarket suppliers to pick up the business.
