My 2008 Express van has the same problem. Now that you have the problem you will be amazed at how many other chev van bodies have peeling paint on their hoods too. I was quoted $350 for a strip and repaint. I have been meaning to get it painted for over a year and yes it does keep spreading. Good luck.
