Chevy four speed auto

Question

Going to look at a 08 Winnebago Sightseer 29r.Workhorse 8.1 motor think the transmission is a GM 4L85. Any info on this transmission do I drive it in overdrive or use lower gear.Will be towing a 3000 lb toad.I put down a deposit for them to hold it. I had a TT puled it with a ford used OD off most of time.

Let the transmission do what it wants. It will first release from converter lock-up, then shift out of overdrive as necessary.
I let my transmission handle most of it. When it starts seeking a gear I manual shift it down.

Im pretty sure that's an Allison tranny
