I read that too much ozone exposure would damage rubber and maybe vinyl. One could end up with far worse problems than bad smell.
Does anyone know if this is true?
From what I have read, yes an over dose of ozone can damage fabrics and rubber products - bluebirdPT36ExplorerI read that too much ozone exposure would damage rubber and maybe vinyl. One could end up with far worse problems than bad smell.

I think the darn dogs are sneaking a smoke! - JOMOExplorerI'm wondering how you found an rv that was smoked in. Every ad I've seen says never smoked in and no pets every allowed inside. I didn't think rver's smoked or had dogs.
- BumpyroadExplorerthere's a good reason that some RV ads say, No Smoking, No Pets, etc.
and in some cases, it is true.
bumpy - dons2346ExplorerIf you have never been a smoker, you will always be able to smell cigarette smoke no matter what is done to get rid of the smoke smell no matter what has been done. Pass on the rig.
- chuckftboyExplorerAn Ozone Generator will get rid of the smoke and nicotine odors but it would take more than just a few days of running it. More like a week, maybe longer for a space the size of a motor home. Concentrated ozone is a strong odor neutralizer. The trick is to run it long enough to eliminate all of the odor.
A local air conditioning contractor should be able to help you out with one. - Ozone works great on organic material and it will do a great job. Some of the tar and the other 1000 lethal chemicals may still haunt you a bit in the right conditions.
Took two weeks of ozone to get the decomp smell out of one of my apartments.
