- RangeriderExplorerWe use the Y-Guy rack for a lot of things. Ladder, Big lawn chair, stowing the Tow Shield when parked, etc etc. The black rubber cords are better than the elastic bungees as they do not deteriorate.

- tahiti16ExplorerI originally just bungeed it to the ladder, but then later bought the chair rack as above. Easier to put on as I don't have to try and hold it there while putting the bungee on. It also gives me some confidence that if the bungee(s) break the ladder won't leave, at least immediately! :B
- Bill1374ExplorerUse the chair rack for the top but I locked the bottom in with a ratchet strap to keep it from moving around. Set it up and cut the excess strap off.
- C_B_Explorer IILike tankcj wrote the double sided is very sturdy.
I've been told the single sided is not to sturdy.

Here's another option. Double sided 7' step ladder.
This is how I carried it under my Cardinal.
I now have it in the fence post cover mounted in my front pass thru compartment on my new Cedar Creek.

Just got mine from UPS yesterday....this is a very sturdy (and heavy) ladder...well built! - ArchHoaglandExplorerI use the rack like Y-Guy showed with a length of chain wrapped around the bottom step and a combination padlock.
Bungee cords tend to disintegrate after a while in the sun so the chain lasts forever and prevents theft. - hotbyteExplorerAre those collapsing step ladders fairly sturdy when opened? I've looked at them in Camping World but didn't actually open up and test.
