class A chasis

Looking at a Safari diesel pusher. Has a Blue Max chassis. Good / Bad?

  • Thanks for the info. Haven't seen the unit in person so I'll probably keep looking.
  • Engine and transmission will be just fine.

    Velvet Ride= Torsilastic suspension. Not a sought after suspension. Parts no longer available. Ride not as good as either air or leaf spring (the rubber in the springs gets stiff with age and also settle-- so check ride height).
  • It's a 2001 Safari Cheetah 3756 with a velvet ride suspension by
    BF Goodrich(not sure what that is either), 300hp Cat/Allison.
    Looking at possible upgrade and starting with floor plans that appeal to us for starters.
  • We have friends that own a Safari they bought new in 1994. Over 200k on the Cummins/Allison, still going strong.
  • What year and model Safari? Leaf spring, torsilastic or air suspension?
