When I think of the purchase price (relatively cheap, entry model, used, mileage), maintenance, repairs, age-related maintenance, tires, gas, etc, I don't even want to know what it all cost. I'm sure I could have taken many more vacations and gone to more exotic places had I not had the RV.
But, I love taking my dogs, I love road travel, I love driving, I love having my own place, I love being fully self-contained and self-sufficient. That, to me, is priceless.
If I thought of it only in terms of money, it doesn't make economic sense. I still have a sticks & bricks home, also a money pit in its own right (antique home, also a labor of love and not a financial investment).
So, it's a lifestyle choice. Do what you love, love what you do, enjoy it. When it becomes too expensive or too much work, sell it and move on to something else.
