After having had it for a little over a year, due to the excellent mirrors, I haven't thought about the side cameras in a long time. You'll see more out of the mirrors than you will the cameras. I think if you divide the screen into three views you will be distracting yourself trying to study the small pictures.

X3 - I have them on mine and frankly wish I didn't. I can see more out of my mirrors and I know better when I am clear after a pass out of the rear camera instead of the side view. Almost wish I could turn them off.
