My side view cameras give me a full screen view when I use my turn signals. I use them all of the time and they are set to show a vehicle that is right next to me, and mostly under my mirrors. I did not like the split screen view so they are set up to the turn signal to give a full screen view and then to go back to a rear view when the turn signals are off.
We have a similar system on our 2013 Winnebago Adventurer. The screen can be setup to view all 3 cameras at once, but the pictures get so small they aren't of much use. In traffic you only get to glance at the screen not sit there and study it.
With our system the driver can move the directional lever slightly up or down to activate the side cameras without activating the turn signal. The side camera also come on anytime the directional light is activated, and the rear camera comes on anytime the transmission is in reverse. With only 1 camera at a time on the screen it's full screen, and only takes a second to determine whether the area is clear.
The side cameras give a full view of the length of the coach. There is no blind spot.
