Class A RV Hitch

I am brand new to the Rv world and am curently very close to commiting to buy a 2004 Fleetwood Southwind 32 ft.class A. Like all newcomers to this arena, I have looked at thousands of units online and I think I have narrowed my choices down to used Tiffin Allegro,Fleetwood and Winnebagos. My first question deals with choosing between buying a towbar for my 2010 Honda Element Ex or going with a dolly. Could someone share their experience and recommendations as to which I should go with? Secondly, can somenone share their opinions on which of the three above brands might have the best reputation and quality? Thanks for any and all inputs!

  • Tiffin Allegro or Winnebagos would be my choice. We use both systems and use a tow bar most of the time.

The dolly takes up more room, takes longer to load and unload but you can tow any front wheel drive vehicle with out any modification.

The tow bar always needs to have a base plate correctly installed.and a vehicle that is designed to be towed as a FROG (four rolling on ground). this can be either 2 or 4 wheel drive.

Does Honda allow you to tow your 2010 Honda Element Ex as a FROG with no modification. I suggest you check with a Honda dealer.

    ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!
