We never switched from a Class A to a Class C - all we've ever had were a couple of 24 foot Class C rigs (on our 2nd one now).
We want small and compact when we travel, no matter how many miles or how far. The DW and myself have taken trips up to 10 weeks at a time in our 24 foot Class C and we have traveled as much as around 9000 miles on a single trip in our Class C. We have covered as much ground as around 2500 miles in five days in our Class C. Our current Class C drives real easy with no handling issues to speak of.
Our personal residence is enough of a "big responsibility" for us. We don't need "big" when we're in full relaxation mode on an RV trip. It would be nerve-racking for us tow an RV or travel in a large Class A.
