Class A to Class C

We currently own a 2003 37 ft Tiffin Allegra Bay gas motorhome. We are considering a 28/30 ft Class C motorhome. I am interested in positive/negative reviews of current owners who had a Class A but chose to purchase a Class C. Thank you in advance!

  • Just went from a 35' Winnebago to a 30' Forest River Sunseeker 2800 GTS. This is the style with no front bunk. Life is all about compromises and nothing is going to be perfect. I was able to fit everything into the new one with little trouble but the size of the bathroom takes some getting used to. Otherwise we like it just as well and it has a much "cozier" feel. Main reason for change was to get something that handled better and was overall easier to drive. So far night and day difference. I can actually drive in 30mph crosswinds without puckering my cheeks. Yes I know that are things you can do to get "A" s to handle better but frankly just didn't want to deal with it.
  • I started with a 26' Class C for several years, then moved to a 33' Class A gas with no slides for several years. We now have a 37' Class A gas with 2 slides that I think is similar to yours. I know the new Class C's are much nicer than what we had years ago, but I really can't see any reason we would give up the space and comfort to go back to a Class C. And beyond that, I wouldn't want to give up all the storage I have with the Class A.
