When I have the time I will jump off the interstate and take a US highway. Being east coast based I've been able to hit about 75% of US17 between Winchester VA and Fort Myers FL and sections of US1. One of my RV Travel Bucket list items is to travel the length of US50 east to west then return on US30 west to east.
