Class B resale value

True, but NADA lists it as a "Classic Car" and not a "RVS". Glad to see your still using it! I would like to think of my 1994 Foretravel, a diesel coach, as a classic too, but NADA has other ideas:h.

I just checked out a 2014 C class Thor Chateau Citation with 2 slides. Nice plan but lousy cabinetry. I went back and looked at my 06 PW Plateau TS--what a difference in quality. I agree that the B vans are USUALLY very high quality construction inside.

Yes, you can get an entry level Class A for the price of a B. My impression is that these RVs are built very cheap, not like the high quality Class Bs like Roadtrek, Pleasure Way and Leisure Travel built by the "persnickety" Canadians. After a few years the van conversions are worth more than the "big rigs".

I found an incredible deal from a car dealer who took a Pleasureway Excel TS 6 years old, great shape and 35k miles in trade. Apparently had no idea about RVs, and especially B's. I picked it up for $17k. You need to act fast with B's because the demand for good used ones far outstrips the supply.

Two things: Don't trade in your rv--you are competing against the RV companys in-stock units. Their commissions are too high anyway.
Also, B rvs especially Sprinters are more scarce, certainly here--I waited for nearly two years to find my PW Plateau TS at a good cash price. Resale prices on Sprinters are quite good here especially if you got a good price to start with,

I think the reason there are so many big rigs for sale is that there are a lot more of them sold new every year in comparison to Class B units and a gas Class A is cheaper to begin with. You can get into a new entry level Class A for less than a Class B on a Chevy or Ford and about half the price of a top end Sprinter conversion. Look at any dealer's lot that handles both and you will see rows of class A's and only a handful of Class B's and the amazing thing is that they sell all of those rows of A's to someone. I have had both and they both have their advantages. We purchased our last Class A to use for extended stays in Florida over the winters, we could not spend several months in a Class B. We now have another B, and it is as noted above, far superior for traveling and site seeing.

I think it is supply and demand to a great extent. Also, Bs do not seem to have the roof issues of Cs and trailers. We bought ours used. We found it on RVTrader.

That has been my observation too, lots of "big rigs" for sale with low mileage for sale at attractive prices. My suspicion is that many people give up hassling with those things and want to get rid of them. Many people don't know how nice the small ones are. For extended travel, you trade a few hours of extra comfort in the evening for the advantages of a Class B. For example, if you are visiting a national park, B owners enjoy the convenience of an RV (bathroom, kitchen, extra clothes, etc.) all day long, but the big rig people are stuck in a car or tow pickup truck. Before I retired and went in to RVing, I had planned to get a big trailer but a friend told me about the Class Bs and after I checked into it, I realized what a good move that was.
