For the Phoenix Cruiser line-up offering from 21 to 31 footers, the E350 is the right chassis until you exceed 25 feet. The sweet spot for a comfortable ride is to have the rig loaded close to the max limit the chassis can handle.
A few Phoenix Cruiser owners special ordered their shorter models on the E450 with the mentality that more capability is better. I can't imagine how their ride is. If I did that, I would likely remove a leaf spring or two or three to tune the suspension for the actual load.
I have to totally disagree with you.
Our 2017 25 ft. Winnebago is far from loaded to the max of the available 4,200lb carrying capacity. We have enjoyed driving it across country. Handles perfectly, and the ride is extremely smooth on most roads and surfaces. We especially wanted, and are very pleased that it is on the E450 chassis.
I'm hardly a newbie....as this is my 3rd brand new motorhome, out of four I have owned over the years. This one being the most comfortable and the least tiring of all to drive all day. YMMV
