Our 2017 25 ft. Winnebago is far from loaded to the max of the available 4,200lb carrying capacity. We have enjoyed driving it across country. Handles perfectly, and the ride is extremely smooth on most roads and surfaces. We especially wanted, and are very pleased that it is on the E450 chassis.
I'm hardly a newbie....as this is my 3rd brand new motorhome, out of four I have owned over the years. This one being the most comfortable and the least tiring of all to drive all day.
Same here with our E450 under a 24 foot Itasca (Winnebago) Class C. I steer it with one hand on the open road when safe to do so. It drives effortlessly with all stock running gear except for just the rear shocks - which after over 50K miles I finally switched to Koni's Frequency Selective Damping shocks.
The E450 chassis under a small Class C really provides a great platform under all conditions ... providing advantages (over the E350 and the various small diesel van chassis) such as prolonged brake life, greater side-wind stability due to it's wider rear stance, and cooler transmission running temperatures pulling grades and towing due to it's low rear differential gear ratio.
We sometimes tow our boat with it and it's like nothing is back there. We back down ramps and launch the boart just fine - with only a plastic fresnel lens stuck on the rear window and a boat pole laying across the rear of the boat with a couple of rags tied on each end to guide me from the driver's seat while backing down ramps. The longer rear overhang of a motorhome over that of a pickup truck means that the rear drive wheels are less likely to be on a wet and/or slippery surface whenever pulling up the ramp after launching or removing the boat.
