Class C side mirror questions

Is there any type of aftermarket side mirrors for Class C (2014 Chevy 450) that will allow the mirrors to fold in?

Seems to me the width with mirrors should be specified somewhere, so a person can figure out parking needs, without having the actual vehicle available.

Does your mirror look like this,

That is the standard mirror for the RV,it will fold in,just push on it and it will fold in.

I have the same one on my Chevy RV.

I fold them in to park in my space at home.

Guess I just need to push harder on mine, and then lubricate the hinge!

If a mirror is folded in you cant see to back up. You would have to pull forward or back up blind.

I would like to be able to fold it in when parked in a parking lot, to avoid having someone else clip it.

  • There is a USDOT law for recreational vehicles that says in part "Lights, mirrors, or devices which are required may extend beyond the permissible width no more than 10 inches on each side." Whatever size the box is, mirrors can extend out 10" more.
