We went from a TT to a class C two years ago and haven't looked back.
Setup took longer with the trailer and you have to get out of the vehicle to go potty or make sandwiches while you're on the road (stopped of course with the TT).
We definitely love the conveniences of a driveable over a towable. Not that we minded towing, but the hitching and unhitching got old. It sure is sweet to jam on the parking brake and be done!
But the biggest thing it came down to for us is that neither of us loved having a truck as a daily driver. Both of us work where we have highly concentrated parking situations and with the truck we'd basically rock-paper-scissors on who had to drive it each day. We don't have big property and we don't haul around a lot of stuff so we basically only has the truck for towing the camper(and a few odd scouts or church types of things)so for us, the move to a driveable totally made sense.
We don't tow a car, but we rent from Enterprise if we know we want to go out and about at a destination. Otherwise we just ride bikes and stay around the campground, or sometimes drive the Winnie and that's not a big deal. Here's a blog post I wrote on that topic: Toad or No Toad
The TT was definitely less expensive to purchase and maintain, but if you have to buy a tow vehicle as well you might be looking at a really close wash in price. A TT may afford you more space, though, so if you have a large family you will want to look at floorplans and see what works best for you. Also take a look at insurance and taxes. That may sway you as well. Here in CT we pay property tax on campers, so that might be a consideration for you.
