We did a lot of research before we decided on TT over a C. Here's why a TT works better for us:
1) Three kids - not a lot of Class C RVs with three bunks. We don't like having to convert the sofa or dinette for sleeping. And three rows of seats in the Burb allows the kids to spread out. -Our Class C has seat belts on the sofa nad dinette. Plenty of seatbelts for 3 kids. The bed over cab is a queen size. Larger enough for 2 adults. 2 kids would sleep there fine. And while our sofa makes out int an air bed, my daughter actually sleeps on it without pulling it out. She prefers to sleep there than up in the bed over the cab.
2) We LOVE to drive. Everywhere. We rarely stay at an RV park just to "hang out." For us the campground is never the destination, it's simply a place to sleep. Constantly breaking camp to drive around is a PITA. - We don't break camp to go somewhere. We get in our 31mpg car and go. Saves a lot on the cost of gas because we like to get out and explore a lot also.
3) My TV is a third vehicle. My daily driver is a sedan, and DW drives a minivan. The Suburban sits in the garage 6 days a week. My daughter took her road test in it, and drives it to school some days. - The motorhome is our 3rd vehicle.
4) It's just as convenient (to us) to pull over, get into the trailer for lunch and potty breaks. - Must not be in some hot places. When we had our TT, the TT would be hot. We weren't able to turn on the A/C without a generator.
5) Hitching up is a breeze with a backup camera. No spotter required. And I have no issues backing in tight spaces with the TT. - backup cameras are great and no matter whatever type of unit you select, the camera is a big plus.
6) I have to think a little further ahead while towing in regards to exit strategy from restaurants and gas stations. But it sure beats driving a bus around tight tourist areas like Yellowstone and Grand Canyon. Large rig on the highways (that are designed for 60'+ rigs), small rig at the tourist spots. Makes sense to me. - If you are towing a car, then there is no advantage that you would have over a motorhome. Leave the motorhome at teh campsite and drive the toad. Just as you would leave your TT at the campsite and drive the suburban.
