With the way you are going to use the RV, a fifth wheel may be a better choice. Engines like to be used. To answer your question about cost, I have had the truck and trailer and a Class A and the Class A is more expensive to maintain. If you have someone else do all the work, I would budget about $2200 per year - this includes the tire replacement every 7 years. The Class A is the best way to travel in my opinion so if you are doing a lot of traveling but you are not traveling very much.
