compressing front air bags inside coil springs for install
My right front air bag on my p30 needed replacing, I've done this before but I found a better way to compress these bags down to a smaller size that fits the hole in the bottom A arm.
Use a large pot of boiling water to heat the bag by holding each end in it for a few seconds, remove the Schrader valve on the end of the bag air inlet but keep the valve cap close. Place a towel on the floor by the stove. heat both ends of the air bag in the water. place on the floor and step on it squeezing out all the air you can and replace the valve cap to seal it. Reheat the bag, the air left in the bag will expand, place it on the floor and step on it and remove the cap, replace the cap, keep doing this till you can fold the bag in half. Keep heating, stepping and removing the cap till no more air escapes.
