So, she wanted $40K out of it and they priced it as $45K. Sounds reasonable to me - that extra $5K most likely covers cleaning fees, stocking fees, and/or consignment fees, etc.
The sales person's comment that "the financial guy said to ask for more" is a cop out. The financial guy works for the same company - if he recommended she go higher, then the dealership recommended she go higher. That has nothing to do with the owner's greediness - that is the dealership trying to make money off the sale.
Also, the owner may still owe on the RV and is trying to sell it without losing any money. As her asking price is at the low end of "normal" pricing for that RV, then I wouldn't try to lowball her further just because you think she should be more flexible.
