Also, I just kind of assumed that negotiating was the name of the game. I suppose it may very well be a fair price, but it's just on the upper end of what I was looking to spend. I guess we'll see if the financing goes through. :)
Ohhhhh... that does put a different spin on things.
In your shoes, I might offer them '$40k as is, or 45k if they provide new tires (SPECIFY acceptable brand/s and models/ of tires), alignment, full sized spare, and new batteries (again, specify)'.
After all, that's how we buy S&B's :).
