LEDs are a great match for RVs. Like Ron said, fluorescents aren't bad efficiency wise, actually very similar to warm white LED. LED has an advantage the light can all be directed so none of the light is reflected within the fixture-fixture losses can be surprisingly high. This contributes to efficiency. One other misconception is fluorescent light is somehow less attractive than other phosphor lighting like LEDs. The cool white lamps installed in RV fixtures are definitely less attractive-old tech phosphors and poor color spectrum. Replacement fluorescent lamps can be very nearly as attractive as LEDs. Look for "800" series lamps-and purchase desired color temperature. Replacing the lamps could cost more than the LED conversions, but fluorescent lamp upgrade is an option for those who don't like the color cast but don't want to re engineer the fixtures. RV fluorescent lamps are often underdriven-so they draw less wattage than the lamp stated wattage.
IMO replacing the 12V incandescent w/ LED is a no brainer do it right now kind of thing for those who camp without hookups.
