" We are planning to add a vent on the rear of the van. It will be a passive vent and not powered like the MaxxFan. The MaxxFan can then pull a serious draft through the van." That is a good plan but you will be pulling cooking smells etc.. through the van.If you run wiring for an overhead light in rear you can always add a powered vent later by tapping into the lighting DC.
