Anything is possible with the weather. Last year my sisters had snow in southern Michigan (three different locations) before the end of October, but growing up there our expectation for first major snowfall was mid to late November.
Before going to the U.P. that late in the year, I would get my trip planned in enough detail to identify my stops and make sure RV parks or campgrounds would still be open. It is a little bit of necessary homework, things start closing soon after Labor Day. I find this to be necessary planning for any RV trips that take me north of I-70 in the midwest after Labor Day. Whatever the weather, the "camping" season is pretty much over when school starts.
I've camped (in a tent) in October in the U.P., and on the north shore of Lake Huron in Ontario. But that's actually easier, since we have no expectation of RV hookup facilities being available, all it takes is some firewood and warm sleeping bags.
