Planning on a trip to Copper Harbor in a few months. When is the best time to go there? Some say don't go after Oct 1st, because it can get very cold and snow. What about places to fuel up with dies...

we make a u.p. trip every year during the first part of October and the weather has been shorts and tee shirts some years and have woken up to snow other years, but not enough snow to worry about. most of the parks are open up to Oct. 15th after that campgrounds are hit and miss. The good part of traveling at that time of year is no crowds, no black flies and the color that time of year can be breath taking. Copper Harbor is beautiful country with many water falls and mines in the area to see. Have a great trip
