Copper Harbor Trip

Planning on a trip to Copper Harbor in a few months. When is the best time to go there? Some say don't go after Oct 1st, because it can get very cold and snow. What about places to fuel up with diesel.
Any help would be appreciated.

    I won't even try to guess the weather then. The professionals don't get it right most of the time but any snow then would most likely not last very long. They do have diesel trucks, buses and cars there and they seem to run all year so it must be available all over. A little snow gives a little extra to pictures. Open campgrounds may be a problem.
