Corvair Ultra Van

Just saw 2 Corvair Ultra Vans loaded on a flat bed with Ontario Canada plates. I assume they were going to Canada as we are only a couple of miles from the bridge going over the St. Lawrence River. They were pretty rough with one being very rusty on the underneath. Was interesting to see them. Ron Day
  • I always found them interesting. It seems likely someone is going to make an effort to restore them. That is a good thing. One hates to see something so unique just sit and rot away.

There used to be an UltraVan parked in a field near Detroit Lakes,MN. We drove in one day and went inside. It was amazing. The woodwork reminded me of an old Airstream. Birch I think. Everything was engineered to be super light. This one was restorable. But that was 20 years ago. It was actually quite large inside. I wonder if there is one in the RV museum near Elkhart??

What you don't see when you don't have a camera handy.
Amazing that I always forget that my phone has a camera. But it is still a pita to try to take a pic with it.

Also amazing the things that can be found in the north country! Don't think I've ever seen a real live Ultra Van, just pics.

And Ron, is the General Store still opened in Heuvelton? Neat place.
