I advise newbies to save enough money to buy a 3-5 year old RV and avoid early depreciation losses and initial taxes, etc., while getting appliances, etc., that still have some five years of use without major repairs or replacements. I also advise newbs to rent a rig to help assure that both owner and partner really will want to use an RV and help them know what length, floor plan, brand and model they really want. Buying an old RV that needs expensive repairs and replacements by professionals is not cost-effective. Don't ask how I know this!
