cost of koni shocks and installation

There is no debate from me now that FSD Koni's are worth the price. Well for those who drive less than 50 miles a year I doubt they would make sense but for the rest they are a great option. We have no experience with the low end Koni but the FSD weighed several times more than the Bilsteins we pulled after 22K miles.

Thanks a bunch for all of the feedback. I have scheduled installation next week. It turns out that my tire and suspension guy has the Koni's on his own M/H and highly recommends them. He has also done six other M/Hs.

When we purchased in 2011 most sellers where waiting on stock that was on the ship that was a few days from port so when I found them at SS/Henderson I when ahead and paid the $172 each but they did ship them free. We were heading out on the 8000 mile trip to the pacific. They are expensive but amazing which is often the case it seems in life. :)

I purchased my front shocks (FSD # 8805-1018) from German Performance Service 2 years ago for $317.52/pair. Free shipping. Installed myself.

Search a bit last month for on-line prices and didn't find much of a discount. $175 is about the going rate for my chassis (2006 F53). Shop labor is variable across the country driven by local cost of living and other costs but $125 an hour might be a good average to estimate. Figure no more than 2 hours for install which I think is a high number considering it only took me about an hour to change my shocks in the driveway.

4 shocks at $175 = $700
Labor 2 hours at $125 = $250
Total $950 as a high estimated.

Call Brazel's at 877/786-1576 or 360/736-9494. They're in Centralia, WA. They stock the shocks and install them. That may be further than you want to go, but it you'll have an installed cost. They'll ship shocks to you for free if you want to install them.

$172 x 4 = $688 for just parts cost for our P30 so if you do not have a $1000 bounce on down the road. :)

Our MH was only $7995 six years ago but I would pay $1000 again if I traded MH's I expect. They are close to computer controlled shocks in performance some claim but at a fraction of the cost.

Ohhh... price of shocks installed... D'oh.

It's two bolts for each shock. One on top one on bottom....
