Moisheh - DaveinetExplorerMany of your brand name tire stores are a franchise, so they can buy tires anywhere. Some are company stores and some are not. Firestone brand name stores will price match, so you can get prices form the franchise store and buy the tires from a company owned store.

You could be right? I don't have the facts but Apple is hands down the leader in computers, tablets and phones. But I was at a conference and Steve Jobs was talking and he quipped and laughed about the one thing that he stoled from Microsoft after they stoled so much stuff from him. I'm so glad Samsung got nailed!J-Rooster wrote:
I hope the counterfeit tire makers get sued! Like Samsung got sued for stealing all of Apples technology and made all those cheaper tablets and phones!
That's a two way street. Technology companies are always stealing from each other. From what I've read, Apple has had to remove Samsung's technology as much as Samsung has had to remove Apple's. - TinstarExplorer

- wallynmExplorerDo not know about Costco but Sams imports more China******than anybody. These two companies do not sale tire sizes to fit most Motor Homes except smaller Toyota micro rigs.

I bet most of us could avoid this trouble by shopping at a major dealer of tires. Never going to a runty small tire shop. We buy from Costco & Sams. I'm pretty sure they buy in bulk directly from manufacturer. - crassterExplorer III bet most of us could avoid this trouble by shopping at a major dealer of tires. X2 Seems odd the the NHTSA only cares about meeting a minimum spec, however when you purchase a certain tire brand, there is an expectation of performance. When that performance is not met, it could very well be catastrophic.
And it is not always the Chinese, I mean counterfeiters have been around in many areas. The problem is when it is a TIRE, that is a safety issue.
It also seems odd that the dealer was seemingly able to weasel out of being held responsible. The dealer chose to make the purchase a questionable product, but hid that from the customer. One would assume there would be a class action taken against that dealer. - Cool_CanuckExplorer

That supposedly happened with a fellow I know. He had a 'Brand Name' tire go bad. He sent in a picture of the tire, date codes, etc. and was told the tire was counterfeit. I was suspect of his story at the time. Guess I need to cut him more slack.
I think it's odd that they would counterfeit a cheap tire like pegasus. I would think they would counterfeit some Michelins or another expensive brand..
