courtesy and boost buttons

I'm new to the world of RVs(I recently took on a 1987 Establishment as an affordable way to live through nursing school)-I'm still at the stage of wondering "What does that button do?" So on that subject, I have two buttons in the drivers dash area called 'courtesy' and 'boost'. What do they do?? :D

Courtesy, if a toggle (ON/OFF) is isle lights inside the RV
If it is a momentary (ON) off or (OFF) on (It really makes no difference which)

Then it flashes the tail and marker lights to say "Tank you" to someone who flashes you back over into the right lane after passing.. NOTE> on some RV's the tail/marker lights must be ON for it to work.

Ever need a Jump Start? Well the BOOST button "Jumps" the chassis and house batteries together to assist if the chassis battery is low.. May also work for the Generator (Does on my rig) if the house batteries are low.

HOld for no more than 30 seconds, then wait for 1 minute and try starting while holding the button.
  • My courtesy button turns on small lights down low near the floor in a couple spots in the coach...for moving around at night without having to use an overhead...kind of like a couple night lights...yours maybe different thou
  • I agree with the boost button. As for the courtesy button why not just try it and see what happens? Something will probably work. JMO
  • The boost switch ties in your house batteries with the engine batteries if one set of them does not have enough power to start the engine. It is sort of like using jumper cables.
The courtesy switch may blink your clearance lights to thank other drivers for letting you in after a pass on the highway.
