I have a Cat 3126B and I got a hose and ran the slobber tube down and back past the mud flap. No problems with the radiator since then. Easier for me than fabricating a "catch can". Either fix will work except running the tube out back eliminates the need for further service of the tube. As wolfe 10 has stated, proper fill on the oil will eliminate engine puking out residue. Just my opinion. Arnold
That is exactly the way it was routed on my 3126-E from the factory and I have never had any oil on the CAC or radiator. Not even when I was using 22 quarts of oil as the original instructions were. Later when the revision come out from Caterpillar to use only nineteen quarts instead of 22 quarts it has no oil coming out the breather tube.
This thing about bottles is crazy when really it is not necessary if they extend the tube all the way down and do not over fill the crank case.
