There is no guarantee that the worse choice will leak. As well, no guarantee the better choice will never leak. It's all about reducing risk. Read through my earlier post a few times to let this all sink in.
Remember, in your $10k price range, you are looking at old rigs where concern for this issue is at hand. When purchased new, you have time before the risk of a leak increases.
