Dash Air Fan on '02 Journey

The dash air fan is making a lot of noise, to the point that we have to shut it down from time to time. I have had great luck in getting directions from RVNET in the past and hope someone can tell me how to get the fan out so I can change it.

Thanks,

Paul

  • On my holiday rambler, the blower motor is visible on the heater box forward of the firewall. Just a few screws to remove. Took the old one to Advance Auto, and they matched it to an 87 chevy van blower motor.

  • Brett,

I'm trying to figure out how to get at the fan.

  • Paul,

Most of these have bushings, not bearings. So, it wouldn't hurt to pull it and let some light-viscosity oil (I use sewing machine oil) wick into the bushing areas. Worse case is you are out the cost of the sewing machine oil. But, it just may do the trick.

The other cause, of course would be a leaf or something else interfering with the fan itself. Pulling it will reveal that as well.
