Dash Remodel...

Any of you brilliant RV'ers remodeled the cockpit/dash area of a circa '02 Winnebago?

I'm not too happy with the dash as it is, there's really no convenient place to put all those small things needed right at hand for a trip.

I'm thinking I could put a couple drawers in place of the unnecessary drink holder to the driver's right (it's redundant). Maybe flatten out the face by cutting the plastic there so the drawers would pull out straight. Maybe get rid of all that in favor of a two drawer cabinet that has a small area on top to toss things

Anyone done a remodel of this style dash? Have any pictures or advice? Thanks!

  • That cockpit area with power and data cords snaking all over looks all too familiar. My biggest gripe about my old rig is the lack of power up front, despite adding an inverter and two extra 12v outlets. I always seem to be one outlet short! I hope Coachmen's designers have a better crystal ball these days.
  • Dale - Do you have other photos of how you attached your left arm console?

  • The dash in my 94 London aire is cracking and falling out of place and I was thinking of a dash remodel too. I was looking at carbon fiber panels or maybe using acrylic sheet with a vinyl covering. Where did you get your wood grain material Dale?
  • I think I might add a separate and movable table, console, (whatever you want to call it) that could be moved in and out of place when parked. I did kind of similar for the left of the passengers seat. When parked I put a different top on it that makes it into a small lounge chair side table.
  • I would try removing the lower half of the center section and build something more fitting to your use. I added a left arm console last year. Primary purpose was for air bag inflation but also gave me a place for a tablet based GPS and a few additional 12VDC switches for exterior lights, dash switches and additional 12VDC outlets. Thinking of reworking the bottom half to add a small storage area for personal items and such. Also thinking about a new dog house setup.

Couldn't find a perfect match for the dash simulated wood grain look.
