Data loggers

Has anyone installed a real time passive eng data logger such as the snEEC-IV or similar to monitor EFI/PCM functions while your MH is in operations.?
snEEC-IV is sold by Race Systems but there must be others....
  • Yes, Race Systems have such a system that interacts with your Laptop and monitors all sensors in the form of active gauges in real time while underway...and engine performance. For ford EEC-IV 86-95 ,patch harness plugs into your harness at PCM .
It is a scan tool and tuning device also. $495.00.
  • The items I suggested are not really what you're looking for then. I suggested a couple options for dataloggers. You don't want to datalog, you want to monitor. I don't know of anything like that compatible with EEC-IV (what you have).

What year/chassis are you trying to datalog. What you mentioned will work for a fuel injected Ford 460 (F53) MH. For that motor, you could also use a Moates QuarterHorse and Binary Editor. The QH and BE can also datalog newer OBD-II Ford MH's. If you have OBD-II, the best option is an SCT X3 with LiveWire.

Any particular reason you're wanting to datalog?

I think it will be beneficial to monitor eng functions while I am traveling so if a problem pops up I can fix without someone dumber than I spending my money performing 'Ole Time Diagnosis' -code , replacing parts ,on a system they know little about. My MH is 96 F53 /460 OBD 1 EFI no cat.
  • Still playing at getting our Silverleaf Wireless engine monitor running consistently. Bought it about 6 weeks ago.
