We have had our motor home out a few times this winter and always re-winterize when we get back....... it costs me about $10 in antifreeze and takes 5 minutes.
Or am I missing something in the winterizing thing? All I ever do is drain the tanks and run antifreeze through the water lines? Is this what everyone else is doing?
Nope. De-winterizing for me is sanitizing the fresh water system, which is a fill of the fw tank with water and a few caps of bleach, let it stand a few hours, drain, fill again, drain, clean the pump's intake strainer. Then I spray the inside of the hot water heater, replace the anode if needed, fill it, test it. Then I'm de-winterized. Takes about 6-8 hrs depending on how long I let the bleach solution soak.
While playing with the water, I check the wheel bearings, tire sidewalls, spare tire... inspect various things that get hot for winter nests (hot water, furnace, fridge).
